Nice job! I'm jealous...
I went through the old girl, and attached some pictures. I will be running this as a back up sled so it wont get to much use. Maybe make it strictly an ice sled at some point not sure yet! Below is the clutching that I can tell to this point. She engages at 4K rpms. Please any suggestions are welcomed!
Primary -
2000 - 8dn20 stock
Secondary-Aftermarket 54/47 helix
set up at 80%

Sweet! It's nice to see those old beasts in great original condition.
Correction.
53/47 helix.
Also something I noticed and excuse my ignorance I am new to yamaha. The suspension almost feels as though it's out of alignment. I only notice it when I got to leave my garage and it seem to wobble to the left and right?

Thanks. I was so excited to find it! Any idea about the suspension issue?

nice 2000, my favorite year! put 4.5 rivets in both holes on 8dn20 stock weights, use a white/white/white primary spring, the helix you already have will work well and get a green dot Yamaha sec spring run that at 60-70 degree twist, it will run pretty stout for you.

Did you check track tension? And adjustment?
PS nice find.

i love my 2000, my tar sled. 8bu-10 ,s 10.45 e.t. 122 mph in the 1/4. the best of all the srx,s. great fined 3:16x (yammie tony)
Thanks for all the positive feedback! It has original track and I believe some old beat up woody picks. I plan on sticking with the .92 but what track is a good one for these also I want to run 120 or 144 1.2 Picks! Anyone had any problem going that big? I know there is not a ton of room under there.

is it picked? i know if you have picks when you go across concrete it will feel like its wobbling left and right otherwise I'd check track tension!!

Yes it is picked! 92 picks I believe and they are very worn so maybe due to them being uneven is making it seem worse! I am going to tighten the track a bit.

Where do you ride in northern Maine? We've had some pretty good riding in the greater Bangor region so haven't gone past the Millinocket area in a long time.
