My 99 Sx 600 broke the right suspension rail right off this weekend. Pulled the skid out of the sled to replace and cannot get the rear wheel shaft to come out. its froze in there and is stuck. I removed the left idler wheel and lightly tapped with a soft hammer to try and not damage the threads but no luck. Anyone have experience with this ?
Thanks

It's an aluminum axle with aluminum spacers. If it's bent then it won't come apart. They were assembled dry, it wasn't a part to be greased during the initial assembly so the spacers can seize too. The short of it, you'll probably have to cut it int sections and replace it.

those parts are cheap on eBay. you can probably find a complete axle with spacers and wheels for short money. and if it comes out you know its not bent because otherwise....

Put the nut back on the end of axle so not to damage threads and give it a good wack with a good heavy hammer. Not out anything now!

Heat always helps but if you don't have a torch penetrating oil and undo the rail bolts and try to turn the rail to break it free.

The side of the axle with the bolt head is a regular steel bolt run into the shaft then has a roll pin run through it so it doesn't back out. You can alway breaker bar/impact that side to try and get things turning.
