I have a 1995 Yamaha Vmax 600. It has the original track, 15x121x3/4 and I want to replace it. It has the original nine tooth drive clogs on it. Am I able to put a 1 inch or 1.25 inch track on it and still have clearance. Please help.

We used to run 1" non-studded on our Vmax's. Been a while since I wrenched on one, so thats all i can remember!

We stopped studding tracks, as even with heat exchanger protections, if one comes loose, i.e. and rips out they carve a hold right through the heat exchanger and you'll lose your coolant, by the time you realize what has happened it's too late.

I have heard that you can fit a 1.25 on there, but I cannot speak from experience. I will most likely be putting a new composit track on mine this summer because the old 5/8 track is not cutting is so great anymore.

A 1" ice attack fit fine on a vmax4. I believe they are similar tunnels. I had a 1-1/2" paddle track on another vmax 4 it would rub occasionally
