After pulling the carbs for cleaning I thought I would inspect reeds with my camera phone. Which worked great. But I noticed a bubble in this orange coating on the carb boots. It peeled away easily with my fingernail. Does anyone know what this is.?

I don't know why it'd be there but, rtv was the first thing that I thought of.

Me too on the rtv, but it is too uniform(smooth) to be that. It looks like a factory applied coating.

It was there from factory. I believe it was to help with the flow of fuel. Mines been gone for a while. Used carb and brake clean to clean boot and messed it all up. Lol.

Thanks. Do you think I should remove it all.? Will it be an issue if ingested in the engine
