Does the viper have the same wire rub issues as the srx ? What do you guys think would make a viper only rev to 4000 rpm but idle and start fine ?last question ..will a piped viper out run a srx if they're mostly stock? I know the viper isn't stock with pipes...
wire rub problem, oh ya every pro action chassis sled suffers from it, they ALL will do it at 1 time , that's why its the first thing I repair when I get one regardless of mileage or age.
running to 4000rpm only is likely the tors system activating, either throttle cable too tight, or carb switch junk. You can bypass carb switch to try it if its bad but theres another switch on the throttle lever and you cant bypass that one. pinch the the center pin and see if it stutters
piped viper will beat a srx pretty easily if everything is the equal as far as clutching and suspension set up, merely due to viper has hotter porting stock, higher compression and more timing in the cdi box. It does take a pair of triple pipes to make it up to the srx power level, srx is 140hp stock, triple piped viper is 150hp. Viper is also lighter then a srx is.

I'm looking to get into riding again but on a Budget, or I'd but a four stroke ...thanks again
its all what you like. I still have 2 strokes but eventually I will get a 4 stroke.
