you will not lose any speed, you may gain 1-2 HP with that can, and it's a bit lighter so in theory you should be a little quicker if you can notice such a small difference.

I have the bender can on my 2000 SX700R and I think it works great.
Last year I had it stock and this year I have thiner head gasket, reed spacers, clutch kit and the bender can. I don't know about top speed as I have not been on the lakes yet but the low and mid range rocks.
Lots of pull that will throw you off the sled if you don't hang on. I need to do some minor adjustments to the suspension but it's a whole new sled.

I highly doubt that you will notice any difference if you gain or lose a few horsepower or pounds. But i also do realize that these things can add up and drastically change the behavior of the sled in a positive or negative way with a couple changes to the sled.
I would just use which ever one you personally like better. (e.g. sound, etc.)

Hmm, I really don't think changing the can or even removing it will make that much difference in drivability. it's the tuned pipe that does this, the silencer does just that, silences the sound, but if it silences it too much it restricts the exhaust causing you to loose a HP or 2, this is what the aftermarket ones pick up, this is why no jetting changes in required when just changing the can.......
