I grabbed a repair kit from Koch and have the impeller out and yes bearings are bad. For anyone that just spins the impeller shaft fully assembled to check bearings....... don't. Mine felt perfect until I separated everything Small bearing is toast.
Anyone have a suggestion for pulling the big bearing out of the enclosed housing ???? Open one end only

Remove the seal and see if there's a lip that a puller can grap on to. Destroy the race if need be.

The Koch rebuild kit comes with all the bearings. Just have to get this one out. I don't want to pry too hard on the cast but as u said perhaps some kind of puller

I sell complete rebuild kits for them too, plus rebuild the pumps ..............to get the out cover bearing out use a heat gun and warm the housing and and use a internal
bearing pull and they pop right out
bearing pull and they pop right out

Put the the enclosure in the freezer for a couple hours. Then warm the housing with a torch or heat gun carefully. The bearing should just fall right out.

This pump definitely would not have lasted long, probably first big pull. I almost didn't tear it down as no leaks, belt had no cracks or fraying and bearings felt ok when assembled. But during disassembly the belt broke in half with no real effort and bearings were both rough. If u have a 30 + year old liquid that hasn't been touched pull your pump and do the rebuild definitely could save a burn down.
Cheers !
