I am wondering how to remove the chaincase cover bearing. Tried filling the hole with hard grease but it won't do the trick. Anyone have any ideas? My next thing to try would be a slide hammer. I'm open for opinions. Thanks

I usually do everything myself, but on this one I said, "Screw it!"
Brought it to our local automotive repair shop, and they pulled it with a slide hammer in 3 min. I was there for less then 10 min and they didn't charge me anything!

Very easy!! Put the cover and the new bearing in the freezer. When the cover and the new bearing is nice and cold, apply heat to the case, but not the bearing, I use a torch. Flip the the cover over and rap the cover with a mallet, the bearing pops right out. Now with the case still hot, take the cold new bearing and drop in place. MAGIC!

How long did you put it in the freezer?

I leave them overnight. But I suppose 3-4 hours would probably be enough. Use a rubber mallet so you don't break anything, you don't have it hit it real head, just a good solid tap. It really works amazing, I've done it several times now with different sleds.
