I have a '99 mountain max 700 triple piped and it is an absolute screamer! We were looking for a part and found a guy that was parting out his '01 mountain max because he seized the motor. We got the part and asked him if he would sell the chassis to us. He said he would give it to us for free! So the '99 mountain Max's tunnel hangs kind of low which means it drags a lot in deep powder. It also has a 136" track which isn't great for powder riding like we do. The newer chassis is blue instead of black and red which I love so much. It has a 151' track and has newer suspension and a taller tunnel which would be great for climbing. I'm excited about the whole deal. Does anybody have any thoughts or comments about it? Mostly just sharing the idea of a 1999 motor in a 2001 chassis because I'm excited. Thanks

sure you can put your engine in it, will all bolt right up, but youll also need to swap over your entire electrical system as yours is the 175 watt single bulb headlight, and the newer one is a 300 watt dual bulb system and they use a entirely different harness and componets. cdi, voltage regulator, smoothing condensors, tach, etc.
now, if you were to find a flywheel and stator off of 2001 sxr or mtn max you could install that on your engine and then use the electrical system and such on the new one IF its all complete.
