I've been riding my 93 Phazer II mod and having a blast! However, I'm struggling with snow ingestion and the sled overheating. The wedge style hood picks up powder and shovels it right into the fan. Are there any solutions to snow packing in the fan?
I tried putting screen over the air Intake holes, but that did not work as they would start to ice over.
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions!

It seems like they had a kit that closed off the lower intakes in the hood back then. I know of several that burned the engine up and Yamaha warrantied them due to snow breaking the fan blades and allowing them to overheat. Worth looking for a bulletin on it to see what they did.

if all else fails close off all the stock ones and install new ones where it won't get that much snow. Another option is to use a product like Frogskinz to keep the snow out of the hood area.
Thanks for info and suggestions...

I used the plastic pet proof screen to keep snow out of my hood.. works pretty good and doesn't ice up for me..
