97 Vmax 700 triple redhead.
Does the coolant sensor need to be hooked up for the sleigh to run properly, or is it just to illuminate the dummy light? I've been toying with the idea of running a temp gauge off of that sensor, but not sure if it is needed or not.
Any ideas would be welcome!

I don't think they used that sensor signal as input to the timing curve on that gen motor like they did on later models. Even those will run they just will throw a code. You should be fine unless I am mistaken.

I've been riding it without the sensor hooked up and it seems fine.
