got in an argument with a buddy of mine about horsepower transfer to the track. a car might produce 400 hp but to the wheel hp it might b only 320 hp. is there lose of hp to the track from the motor on a snowmobile? stupid question but never heard anyone ask about it. by the way he thinks his stock 2002 edge x 700 will out run my 2000 srx bone stock.
There is a much larger loss on a snowmobile, around 50%.

WOW!!! Didnt know it was that much less. I owe my friend a beer, i was wrong he was right.
The srx is clutched terribly from the factory. I don't understand what they think, I bet you could throw the 700 set up on the 600 and at least not get an overrev. Some kind of a set up on the srx and he should be way back.

The 700 polaris with the power valves run pretty good. The srx should run better, especially on a long run, but don't think they are nothing.
