check fuel pump, clean carbs, and check if choke is working correctly. also replace fuel lines. if all fails, get another fuel pump. 3:16x (yammie tony)

Dont forget to check the prefilter screens behind the needle valve

could also check the pulse line from the crank case to the pump.

Ya that would be quick and easy no disassembly of carburetors.

OK great but did you remove the needle valve seat to check the screens?

I'm in the same boat. I'm leaning towards needing a new fuel pump as it is original. I have changed all hoses including the pulse, carbs are clean and in proper adjustment, compression is 132, 132, 130 reeds are good, fuel filter has been changed. I have a 2000 SRX 700 that is the only difference. Cold starts take 10 to 11 pulls and warm starts take 2 to 3 with a blip of the throttle.

Try using the choke to kill it when you shut it off for the night. It helps a little. I think that is fairly normal for these. Mine has always started pretty hard in the morning. The colder it is the harder it starts.
