Howdy Yamaha head.... I am 53 now and owned Yamaha's since I was 22. 5 years ago I parted ways with the sport and sold everything. I have owned over 15 Yamaha sleds from and Inviter to the Vmax4. At the end I owned a 2002 Viper and a 2006 Apex. Both great sleds for sure but the viper just seemed like the perfect blend of everything I loved in a sled. This group is the only group I would go to for advice. From Mr. Sled on down the info you provide on your experiences is priceless to me. With what I said about my 2002 Viper in mind, what later model 4 stroke would suit me? I don't mind a little banging yes I do enjoy the power line running. Also I will tell you if I found a low mileage Viper I would snap it up! Thanks guys and have a good one! Yamadog....

I sold my 02 Viper and bought a Sidewinder (awesome!) but I missed the old two smoker so I picked up a lower mileage 2002, blue with ER for $2900. May have slightly over paid but it was too clean to pass up. You maybe able to find an 2002 with a lot of upgrades (M-10, clutch etc) for a good price too. I've never owned an APEX but there seems to be some left overs laying around at dealers if your looking new. If you looking for a more rider forward position... there are also a lot of 2014 - 2016 Vipers new or low mileage out there. All depends on budget.
