According to what i can find, coolant flow of the redhead goes clockwise and the front exchanger would be the last one on the circuit. (Someone correct if this is wrong). I'm thinking of leaving the front exchanger off of my sled when I do my tunnel swap and using a bigger than stock rear cooler instead.
Has anyone done this when using a different tunnel? I have a temp gauge currently and with the riding i do i can never get over 150s.
Another reason I'm considering this is that my sled is quite nose heavy with a lighter skid in the rear and i think it could benefit from 5lb in rear instead of the front...

Well either its warm and everyone is out sunning or everyone is having blizzards and out riding lol. Not even a response telling me I'm stupid for ever thinking of modifying my yamaha!

If you mean leave it out as in not use one at all, it is a key structural pat of the frame. I don't think your going to see much of a weight savings after you build something to replace it and hold everything where it needs to be. Your lower steering shaft attaches to it and it's loads the heat exchanger forward and back when steering.

I'll likely put one back in this bulkhead or use my bulkhead that still has one, I agree it likely wouldn't save weight overall. But adjusting my transfer pretty much only changes the balance of a machine if you are accelerating.

Ride quality will suffer but cranking up the front shock preload or loosening the limiter strap could also "lighten" the front end.

tighten up the front shock, let the limiter straps out all the way and loosen up the rear shock, just sitting on the sled will take weight off the front of the sled.
