I work for a Powersports dealership in Northern Ohio and just acquired my 2nd Snowmobile in my 45 years on this Earth. My 1st was a sled that my father brought home in 1979. A Kawasaki 440 Invader (I was 8 years old). 2 weeks ago, without my wife's knowledge, I signed up for a 2001 Yamaha SRX 700. I'VE rode Nytro's, Apex's, an Arctic Cat F7 and a handfull of Ski-Doo's.
I've always have had a special attraction to the SRX 700. I know the suspension is lack luster by today's standards, but it's the one that I've wanted..
She's a little on the rough side with nearly 6000 miles, but it's mine. Looking to hopefully restore it over this Summer?

Great purchase! As Needa said, welcome to the club. It always makes me happy to see a first time SRX owner. We were all there at one time. You will not be disappointed to say the least. If you do the research, that suspension can be set up to work quite well.

I just saw that sled on cragslist! she doesn't look bad at all, you'll love it! I'm addicted to those things.....I want a bunch more!!! ha ha The srx suspension isn't as bad as a lot of people say they are, they may not be the best on rough terrain or taking big jumps but they work great for average trail riding. The most important thing is to keep the shocks fresh, when they get old and worn out they will bottom out on the bumps, that'll kill your back. I have my shocks freshened up every 2-3 thousand miles, usually costs me $25 per shock.

Awesome. Glad to see someone who is into these find one to refresh. I also got a 01 this year after being out of sleds for many years. Only put 40mi on it this year. Never really snowed, but gave me some time to go over it while I was waiting for snow. This site is very helpful and some people on here with extreme knowledge. Good luck

Great idea! Was going to get a 8x10 for sure, but poster for the shop would be sweet.
