Hi all, new member in need of some guidance and thank you all in advance.
The first 3 digits of the serial # is 8DS, the carbs and engine ID is 8CH01, red head with single exhaust.
1. How best to adjust the floats? A flat body float I have done but these are designed with different heights and I am not sure where to take the reading? I believe the measurement is 13.6 +_ 2
2. The standard jet for carb 1 is 145 and carbs 2 & 3 is 143.8. For Pa. to Maine have you found superior jetting? Motor / exhaust are stock.
3. The jets that are in now is (1) 143.5 and (2 & 3) 142.5 but on the stand when you jab the throttle it momentarily stumbles. Yes, the floats my also attribute to this as well as the needle position which I did not check yet. All other jetting is stock.
4. Running on the stand there is little to no smoke. I held the oil injection cable full open for some time and still no smoke. I slightly pulled the oil feed line off of the fuel pump and oil started leaking so I put the line back on as not to get air in the line. I have to assume the oil pump is working but why no smoke?
4. The electric tach is not working.
5. The hand warmers only work on high
Any tips or tricks would also be appreciated
