So I removed the engine from my srx last spring and split the cases. Last week I was looking over the crank and there are some spots on some of the bearings, and I spun the bearings and for the most part they all sounded pretty smooth. The ? I have is on the big end side next to the connecting rod there's those 3 bearings that have the knock pins, and I'm wondering are those bearings supposed to be fairly tight next to each other? Just need to make sure the crank is good to go before I move forward. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

the bearings will have a very small amount of sideplay, but should spin smooth and not have any up and down play.

Ok so how much side play are we talking? I had previously oil all the bearings before it had been sitting for awhile, and they all seem to spin fine and I don't hear any grumbling noises.

before you put it back together make sure there's no up/down play in the rods. last thing you want is piston slap.
