I'm rebuilding my primary on my 04 Viper. I installed the new OEM sheave bushing and it's too tight. Won't even engage on the shaft. I removed the bushing and checked the size. By squeezing the bushing tight it's already undersized without even installing it. Has anyone experienced this. Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket bushings.
Thanks

With no replies, does this mean no one has had this problem or just hasn't replaced the bushing.

Aftermarket usually have fitment issues. OEM bushings have tighter tolerances and usually fit better. That's not to say there may be 1 in 100 that don't fit well.

Unfortunately it doesn't fit at all. I ordered the aftermarket to try. If ng I will try another OEM

Mabey a flap brush that's slightly bigger than the bushing?

Unfortunately it's not getting squished. When I hold it closed and measure it before it's installed, it's already before too small.

I was thinking it wouldn't go onto the shaft. After it's installed on the primary, flap brush the inside of the bushing until your happy w/ the fit.

It's small enough that all the coating would be removed. This is the second time for this problem. Once all the coating is gone it will start to bind if the conditions are right. I can't believe no one else has experienced this. I need someone to measure the primary shaft on comparable clutch.
