8DN00 vs 8DN10 cylinder differences?

8dn10 is different port timing, exhaust is more aggressive and a tad bit on the transfer ports as well. 98-99 (8dn-00) made peak at 8300rpm, the 2000-02 (8dn-10)made it at 8500rpm. Nothing wrong with the 8dn-00 cylinders they can be made to perform just as good with some porting.
 
Are the heads better too? How much more HP Stock for stock 8DN-00 to 8DN-10 with Cylinders and heads?

the heads are a lot better off the 2000-02 then the 98-99 are, more compression and tighter squish. the 98-99 can be machined to be the same but are bigger cc dome and lower the compression stock. Like the cylinders they can be made to as good with a little machine work. Theres not a giant hp difference, the 98-99 was average at 137hp, the 2000-02 was average at 140hp. the 2000-02 also had the 3d ign. system and even though they didn't make bunch more hp the engine changes and the ign made them a lot more responsive and fun to ride.
