I have been pulling my hair out trying to fix this tach. Been all thru the wire harness with no luck. I replaced the only bad section under the motor, still no tach. When I say bad there was one wire rubbed thru.
Another thing I did find was a burnt up wire for what looks like a spliced in wire for a heated shield off the tail light. But the tail light works and I removed the burnt wires.
Anyone got a schematic for a 98 srx, no electric start version.
Lastly could the CDI be to blame? Sled runs great, I just want my tach to work.
Its not the tach as I replaced it already.
