looking for some advice to know if the base gasket is leaking or if the coolant pump is leaking

Definitely not coolant pump, I would think it is either coming from the power valves or the exhaust donut that is between the header and pipe, Im leaning toward the 2nd choice based on your pics.

I just changed the exhaust donut about a year and a half ago or so. i checked the power valves and they were all about the same as this picture

Looks like splatter from leaky PV’s. There are o rings in there that go bad over time and cause a mess like this.

agreed, powervalves are leaking and causing that black sooty oil, you need new seals(on pv stem) and O-rings on cables.
