I've been wanting to get a viper last couple years, well I ended up selling my srx 600 last night. I'm going to go pick up an 02 with 1380 miles on it! Can't wait. Busting out of work at noon and going to get it. What plugs do they run in theses? Thanks.

NGK br9es (factory recomendation), also look at the belt guard it will tell you. Father in laws 03 viper runs great on them
 
What was your first impression?!

I just sold my 02 mxz600 and replaced with a 02 viper 700. :yam:

very happy with the viper all around...Power is night and day over the mxz!

Man I love it! I like the way better than my srx 600. Only rode about 25 miles tonight. Gonna hit the trails tomorrow morning for about 150 trip.

Very clean sled, nice find !!!!

If you have not already you should set-up the suspension per BETHEVIPER post on here from a number of years ago. Also this sled had stiff rear shock valving from Yamaha, most swapped them out but some did not. Good info to know when tuning the suspension.
 
Congrats man! That is the cleanest Viper I have seen in a long time. I have personally owned an 02 Viper like yours, the sold it when I bought an 01 SRX 700. Love the sounds and power but where we don't have the wide open flat trails here in southern Maine ride and handling become most important. Sold the SRX to my brother who now asphalt drags it in south Carolina and bought an 04 Viper ER/S with the Ohlins. When considering all 2 stroke sleds IMHO the Viper is simply the best all around sled ever. Once you get the suspension dialed in you will not want another sled. I had an M10 in my 02 Viper and rode great. It may be my age (52) but I just couldn't adapt to the upright seating and lack of wind protection of the modern sleds nor the sound and feel of the 4 strokes. Nothing sounds better than a 2 stroke triple!
