I've been noticing that my 02 viper hood on the left side doesn't fit all that good on the corner, seen a lot of 02's like this. Bad fit and finish? Fix? Thinking of a way to get the belly pan to stay up higher.

they had a service bulleting on that, you trim the bellypan down on the tip so it doesn't crack the hood. also trim the inside of hood rib. theres a Yamaha service bulletin on it, common problem. some guys also added a hood strap there but I think its pretty ugly to do so.

Ok copy that, thanks. Definitely don't want those hood straps, saw those. Can you put up a pic of where your talking about trimming inside of hood at.

Right side is perfect, left side belly pan needs more support, where the shock bolt mounts lots of wiggle room there.

Same with mine. I did the trim with no help, Just a figment issue. I ended up putting a hood strap there like on the front hood part. Keeps the hood in place, it doesn’t even look that bad. That’s on my 02, the 04 no issues.
