I just bought a mbrp race can for my 04 viper s,i was wondering if any of you had any problems with your dcs light flashing after the silencer was installed?I just want to make sure i dont have to rejet.(before i get roasted the race can is not going to be used for trail riding).

I'd take it off. You WILL definitely lose performance with that silencer on a Viper. We have two identicle Vipers to test with and I proved the performance lost last season with another constant Viper. It was around 7 or more sled lengths in 800-1000'.

I know i might lose a little horsepower, but 7 -8 sled lengths in 800 feet?If it killed that much power i doubt mbrp would put it out.

We have 5 Vipers in our group, 3-2002's & 2-2004's--including a Viper-s. All have MBRP's. None of us have any issues or problems, and no changes are needed. Just pull out the big "suitcase" and put in the "little" can (now you can adjust the chaincase w/o removing anything). You MAY loose some power but the average trail rider could give a rats azz. How often do you "line them up?" We did not notice any loss...

Thanks thksnow,Thats what i was hoping to hear.I realize a lot of people hate loud silencers and try and discourage people from buying them.Like i said,i do not plan on ripping down the trails and pissing off land owners, its more for use on my own land and maybe radar runs and such.
