I just picked up a 2004 Viper with the stock Ripsaw that has torn lugs. I got a good deal ($300 shipped)on a new Hacksaw track so I pulled the trigger and it gets here Friday. I need some advice on what is the best stud/backer/pattern combination for someone who is an aggressive trail rider trail occasional lake racer.

It's stock now but I may end up triple piping this sled eventually.

What is the correct stud height for good penetration without risking tunnel or heat exchanger damage?

hacksaw is one inch as I remember. use 1.175, chissles if your going to be racing. they last decent on the trail and are wonderful on the ice. If your just going to run it on the trail use carbides. 144 up the middle.

I like the woodys mega bite studs for all around. I also agree 144 studs with double backers down the center. I have never had one pull through. And they work great.
