I have a 95 Vmax 600 with 4000km that my son rides. It works great except at around 40-60kmh it seems to not accelerate, almost a dead spot.
I have had the cabs cleaned and a new belt installed, all by Yamaha dealer. It starts great, runs great up to 40km/h on the trail and if you feather the throttle it does not seem to have an impact. If you give it lots of throttle it pulls hard. Had it going 120 km/h on the lake this weekend with lots of throttle left. Any suggestions on how to fix the dead spot at 40-60 km/h as this is where the speed is on the trails.

clean the clutches out. sounds like it might be sticking on the belt dust from all the years.
