I picked up a 2001 SXR 700 with a blown cylinder. I have an engine out of a 1999 SX 600 that I want to drop into it. Can I use the CDI box that is already in the 2001 SXR 700 or do I need a CDI from the 1999 600?
I'm not sure if the CDI's are interchangeable, but you will probably have to use the stator from the 2001 700. Dual headlight sleds had different stators than single headlight ones.

I have no personal experience with the dual headlight models, but Like Nails said, I would think you would need to keep 01's Stator and cdi to work with the rest of the sleds wiring harness.

You just need the 01 stator and flywheel. Make are and use the carbs from the 600
