What kind of job to split crank case on 78 et250? I've done seals on other sleds but not an et with the vertical case. Do I need any special tools? Any help/tips would be great. Thanks.

had a look at a parts catalog .... same pain as most ... removal of clutch and flywheel .... screws appear to behind flywheel .... after they come out , tap with mallet around the case halves
until they separate ... don't jam a wedge in between casings as it is a polished fit with a fine film of sealant and screwdriver gouges are a bad thing... two of the holes have dowel pins
as well to keep things square ...
