i am long tracking my viper. what do you guys think of this set up for trail and off trail for the u.p.

maxx perf tunnel extension w/ srx cooler and protectors in case i decide to stud.
tracks usa rail extensions.
136" fully clipped ripsaw and 8 tooth extroverts.

also how many studs would i go with?
i already have 05 mountain skis on the way. what length carbides? 8" or 10"? any other parts needed other than chain case oil and hifax?
thanks

I went with 136 ripsaw on mine, but it's only clipped every third I think. I went with 8 tooth drivers in case I wanted to stud. I also changed the gearing to compensate for the reduction in driver circumfrence. I also then filed one tooth off the speedo pick up to reflect the reduction in driver circumference. I have the tracks USA rail ext with hyfax extension, Hartman tunnel ext, and yami stuff. I have the speedo within 2 mph of my gps at 85mph, so I know the gear changes and removal of one lobe on the speedo pickup gear worked out right. As for the suspension, I wish I would have done the "relocation" but it's too late for me unless i want to buy new rail extensions. I hope this helps

Good luck,
Joel

136" kit

Did you get a tunnel extension kit yet? I have a complete one for a viper from mtn performance with covers, hoses, and a set of rail extensions, I was gonna do a 136 viper till the 06's came out, let me know if you might be interested in it. I did a 136" to my srx and if I were to do it again, I wouldnt use the srx rear heat exchanger, its too heavy, and the weight is all in the back, youd be better to go with a tapered extension and then use a sxr,sx or vmax rear cooler, they are half the size of a srx one, will work great on a viper with pipes, thats what I ran on mine for over 800 miles and I beat it...., I cut the ends off laid it flat and re tig welded the ends, simple and made a super clean installation.

i did the mpi option 2 with relocation on my viper, love it, left drivers alone as i dont plan to stud. if you have any questions on anything, pm me...
