VK540 III 1.5" track swap?

We use older VK540 III's for trail grooming and some breaking trail (2+ feet, steep trails). Has anyone replaced the stock 1" track with a 1.5" track?

If yes, was it a straight replacement OR were modifications necessary? What track did you use? Was it worth it? Any other comments appreciated.
