Hello, I have a 03 venture 700 that has bad jug/piston and head both have #'s ending in y-2. I just got replacement parts but they are y-1..... Will that be ok ?
Yes there was an update but it should not affect that motors jugs and pistons.

Dont quote me on this but I would guess based on the changes to the crank bearings punching seals out on the 97 version as the motor changed over the years with small updates so did the part numbers.
97 Cylinder was 8CH-11311-00-00 most likely a Y-1
2001 Cylinder was 8CH-11311-01-00 this is a Y-3 but that Mag was changed to for Dual Headlight
