Can i use 8DN type belt if orginals type is 89 L? And if so which belt is better.

89L is a lot softer compound & is slightly narrower. It will grip the shives better but not last nearly as long.

I checked with Yamaha and they are different in length and width.
Use the 8dn . it will last for ever. If you want a decent lasting softer belt get the dayco ultimax 4432. It will drop rpm,s by about 300 but will be more consistant. Still won,t have the awesome longevity of the 8dn belt.
