Looking at buying a SRX 700 bottom end, what to look for?

Hi all, I'm looking at buying an SRX 700 bottom end with 11866 miles on the crank, the top end and seals were done in 2010, what should I look for, for wear? Do I need special tools to measure specs.? I'm mainly need the bottom case as I put a rod thru mine, but the seller is including the crank. What would be a reasonable price for a used bottom end? Thanks in advance for the responses.
 

What year bottom end are you looking for? I have a set of cases for a 98-99 I believe that I would sell. They are just sitting under my bench taking up space.

Thanks for the reply, I was looking for a 2000, and ended up buying a 2002 bottom end, I hope it will work for me.
