In an ideal world we'd be able to buy good ethanol free high octane gas at the local pumps, but we can't generally. So here's my question. What octane should one use in a trail ported SRX engine with shaved heads and bored carbs? Jetting will play a factor too I know but speaking hypothetically what should one use? I've researched commercially available octane boost for hours and found there's only a few readily available that truly raise the whole octane point, but I also saw a product called Race Gas that will raise the octane of regular 87 unleaded to something like 105,depending on the ratio. I haven't looked into the components of Race Gas to see what it's made of but I'm sure there must be some potent ingredients to be able to claim such high numbers.

I run these in my high compression ported dirt bike, both work great!

Klotz was the other brand that I read about to raise the whole point number.I am kind of limited in what I can find around here but I but I'm trying to line up a source of readily available good quality booster.
