A guy says he bought his second 97 sx 600 and they both had cracks in the frame where the pto motor mount is. Is this a known problem?

Can’t say I have ever heard of that or seen it.
I have seen several sleds that have cracks in the center of the bulkhead where the radius rods bolt on.

I remember when this chassis came out with yamaha stating how strong this one piece cast alumium bulkhead was(No need for unequal length radius rods because the mounting points were so solid).

Replacing the bulkhead is not a hard job to do. I have done a few.

Must take quite a beating to crack one, I've had proaction sleds for almost 20 years and never had that problem.

Mine had a plastic cover on it. Did not know it was cracked until I started cleaning the engine compartment. Lifted up the plastic and found it.
Things to negotiate with when buying these chassis.
#1 wound be the cracked W arm.
#2 would be the bulkhead crack.
