HELP!!

I have a 2000 srx700 that is just getting killed off the line. Has a speed track with 192 chesils that are dull. Lowered front end, transfer rods all the way up, limiter straped all the way down, oversized idler wheels, 52/42 helix , 8dn20 weights with heavy tips, 8600 rpm at wot
red secondary spring, w-w-w primary. It just spins the track for about 500 ft before it hooks up. Running on hard pack / ice and can't get the track to hook.

Should I just buck up and buy a 1.25 rip saw or is there something better out there??

the tracks not going to hook up at all unless you put fresh metal in it and then it wil only work on bare ice?????? If you're gonna run on snow use a 1" with good metal or a ripsaw

Get some better studs & run it at 8200 out of the hole & climb to 8500. Works way better.

52 initial angle on the secondary with a red secondary spring is gonna want to upshift too fast for your traction capabilities. Steep helix + wimpy secondary spring = quick upshift & you better have traction plus if you do you still might suck the belt & bog. You might want to re-think what you got!!

stud problem. mine dose it to no mater what you do wot off the line or easy, jump on it,rock it,push it,or kick it worne out studs are a masive let down

1 inch pred with 1.175's or a 1.250 rip with 1.325 megabites. I went with the rip with the 1.325's. I don't even have the studs in yet, and she really hooks up with the ripsaw.

I heard many guys talking about having there limiter straps all the way down and there transfer rods all the way out for racing - I do it just the opposite, straps tight and rods short - sled stays flat out of the hole with only about 4 inches of ski lift - the pictures of these guys with there front end 1 foot in the air isn't the way to get a hole shot unless I'm missing something

Ditto, I adjusted mine tighter. Doesn't look as cool, but the acceleration is alot better.

The local lake has melted some of the snow and formed a really fast runway. With the set-up I have now the dream-o-meter reads over 120 mph, its top end is good but with the ice getting better I'm going with a 50/40 or 48/40 helix with a green or silver secondary spring. Next year I'll have a rip saw track

That ripsaw won't be worth a sh*t on hard pack or ice - your speed track with fresh chisels is what you'll want for that - pick what you want to race on (hard pack, ice, or snow) and we can help you!
