I have a '98 mm700 and thinkn about looking for an aftermarket can to make it sound like it should. Any recommendations and will it effect the jetting? TIA

If it's a nice rumble your looking for, drill a 2" hole in the first baffle that is seen through the exhaust port on your stock muffler.

Thanks....Will the modified stock can or aftermarket can effect my jetting?

Nope. Insure it is a hole saw for METAL.
1. It's 90% cheaper than a can. And that's if you have to buy everything.
2. A can is a DNR magnet and will more than likely net you a ticket.
3. The procedure above still allows the sled look stock.

I have a mbrp race can on one of my vmax xtc 700s. It is absolutely obnoxious but in a good way haha. I have another xtc 700 i just drilled the stock can. So if I think i will be around fish cops ill take that one. Definitly not as loud but still sounds alright.

I drilled my 700 can and after an initial uneasyness about it, I now love the sound and it cost zero $
