I am in the process of freshing up the old 98 SRX. In the past I have read here where some were installing a thicher base gasket to alter the port timing. Could anyone offer some info on this mod? Head cut, jetting, clutching, and where to access the gasket... I am trail riding near sea level. Thanks!

The mod your refering to required adding 2 more stock base gaskets ( total of 3) and cutting .030" off the heads. It does work, and you will have to add some mass to your weights or get a steeper helix angle. Jetting isnt really effected if you were jetted safe before. ===SRXSRULE===

I had Bender racing do mine, they had their own base gasket, cut my head and even reshaped the combustion chamber slightly.
