So on 1997 sleds, it shows using this washer (#25) after the top gear and nut are on.
On newer years, like maybe 1998 and up, the washer is gone in the parts Fische.
Only thing different that I can see is the bearing that goes in the chain case cover has a slightly different part number, but both are still a 6204 bearing.
1997 bearing - 93306-20458-00
1998 and up bearing - 93306-20468-00
So, is the washer optional? It’s pretty thick.
Is the new bearing thicker to take up the space of not having the washer ?
Not sure what to do as I have now replaced that bearing with a standard 6204 from the parts store.

Did you end up putting the washer back in? I can't remember did the 98 and up have a c-clip that holds the bearing in place and that's what the washer is for on the 97 instead of a c-clip???????

No clips in any of them.
Huh? Did you end up putting it back in or leaving it out?

I put it in, seems like it wouldn’t matter if it was in or out regardless.
The bearing in the chain case cover is pressed in, so it can’t come out anyway.
