Went boom on me today. Only could go 140 kms...when I slowed...ran horrible for a few seconds then boom...dead.
Sounds rattlely when I turn it over by hand.
So...my question...I was running Castol Oil for the 1st year in it. Ran fine in my vmax for the past 4 years. Anyone else had this happen or am I dreaming that it may have been a lube issue.
For that matter...anyone know of the claim procedure for pestering Castrol about it?
Thanks,
Corey

first you need to get in there and see what happened. More than likely its not because of the castrol oil.

yea that can be an expensive and annoying little fix. Definately worth it to spend the small time and money on fogging it in spring every year, and use PLENTY of it, spraying it into the carbs with it running, one carb at a time, up and down the row a couple of times, making sure not to kill it with too much spray at one time, then after about one minute of giving each one a little, give them all a lot real quick to kill the engine. Then pull the plugs and spray some down the cylinders. This will ensure everything is nicely coated with that heavy oil. Works awesome

Well...I took it appart. The recoil side cylinder was a little lighter on the exhaust pipe and the plug was bent flat...and parts of the rings fell out of the exhaust when I took it off. Sigh.
Doesn't look to be a lube problem. Maybe a little lean on the jetting. I'm gonna have to rip the carb apart again and have a closer look why. I had just cleaned them a month ago cause it wasn't idling worth a s**t.
Off to the classified I go searching for parts.
hmmmm 4 stroke...hmmmm wonder if the new ones are fast and flat like this thing was.
