Hello,
I'm just looking into rebuilding a 1986 vmax 540 as a summer project. The sled's body is in decent overall shape. The engine however may need a little work. It's got a low compression problem on the right piston. Could be rings, could be more.
What do you think something like this would cost to get into decent shape?
What kind of things could I run into?
Thanks,
Mountain SXr

if it doesn't need cylinders it shouldn't be too expensive at all to do a top end rebuild, probably well under $300 bucks. Even if it does need cylinders, you could almost certainly find some used ones in good shape.

Parts machine
Does anyone have a parts machine laying around?
Just wondering how hard it's going to be to find parts.
-Thanks
