Looking for someone with first hand knowledge of this.
Wanting to upgrade the stator in the 1997 700 SX.
We all know the process of doing it to the SRX. Pickup coil needs to be moved, new flywheel, stator, harness, CDI, ect.
Anyone know what it takes to do it to the SX motor ?
Obviously flywheel, coils, stator, CDI, Harness.
Wondering if the case is different like the SRX's are ?

I went down this road with my 97- Its the same process as the srx... case IS different. Very doable swap but I decided if I were to do it, that I would just get the newer case than mess with my current motor that has been trouble free. What I ended up doing is going to LED instead. The LED dual setup draw less than what the single Halogen did so it really didn't make sense to spend the extra time on the case.
