I picked up a 1998 Venture 500 in Speculator, NY late last season. Seems like a nice machine and I am excited about having a 2 up to get more folks out.
So, reverse works but you have to hold it down or it will pop out of reverse, and it does not beep. I see you can adjust the linkage pull.
I have a 2001 VMAX 600 which seems to actuate in the same fashion, but that one stays in reverse and beeps, until you bring it back to forward.
I can't find much on-line about this situation.
Any advice on how to get it to 1) stay in reverse, and 2)beep like my VMAX?
Thank you!!

Make sure the beeper is plugged in and the linkage will need to be adjusted. There is a spec in the service manuals or owners manual.
