Looking for pipes for my 94 vmax 600 ST. What is a fair price for a used set of gyt twin pipes with bender racing canister. Is this pipe available new anywhere? When you change pipe do you go up or down in size. I just installed boyesen reeds and it says to go down 2.5 to 3 sizes. What size would I use with pipe installed.

You mean GYT to your dealer pipes soon for parts from another melt down. I have a set I'll give you for free. Need to know more?
Snoden700viper What problems did you have, and how/why did u engine blew up. I have gyt piped vmx 600 -96, should i be worried. I havent put so small jets what gyt jet chart advises. Should be 155 size jets now running 160 and sled is way too rich on top end. I think engine wont produce more hp than stock with those 160 jets. Can i go to 155 jets??? Our opinnion?
Sandmanmike i have jet chart for gyt pipes but is at my childhood home where sleds are too so cant tell u jet size now. There is different jets for every yearmodel 94 95 and 96.

Well there were 4 of us that had those GYT pipes, everyone toasted at least one cylinder and few a couple more. They had a very lean spot in the mid range that was never figured out. Yamaha had some updates to jetting, needle clip setting, air pilots but nothing ever worked. All of us eventually just went back to stock pipes. One guy had the worst luck, like 4 melt downs but the worst thing was his drive clutch broke off the crank. I don't think the crank was built for the extra torque and HP from the pipes. I could be wrong on that one not sure it's just a guess.
