I have a 1998 SRX 700 which is basically stock except for some clutching. The sled has always worked fine but just last weekend I seemed to develop a problem when coming to a stop after driving quite hard. The sled will work fine but when I come to a stop it will start bogging and even backfire when I come back on the gas but will idle fine. If I let it idle for about 10 seconds it will work great again. Could this be a problem with my TORS? It almost seems like a lean condition but my plugs look fine.

sounds exactly like TORS, bet it will go if you let the engine drop below 2K, without waiting that long

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago with my SRX. I would get on the gas and then when I went to let off it would start to backfire and bog down. I found that is was my throttle cable adjusted too tight, so it wouldn't let out all the way after I let off the throttle. It was a self-inflicted problem, as I was messing around with the carbs the day before. Might be worth looking into if you've been tinkering with things lately.

It does seem that when I let the rpm drop down to idle that it works fine. I will lossen my throttle cable a bit to see if that helps. Should I also discconect my TORS to see if there is a problem with it?

try loosening the cable first to see if that remedies the problem, then try bypassing the TORS if that doesn't work. One thing at a time
