I have a stock 97 700sx and bought used PSI pipes for it. I am running it at 1000 ft elevation and do mostly trail riding. Would you what to recommend for jetting and needle clip to start with? I read many mixed things reguarding the jetting for these pipes and cant seem to find a PSI chart anywhere. It currently has the stock clutch but I was considering upgrading it but have no idea where to start. I tried to reach out to YammieGod as I read on an older thread he had experience with this, but I can't PM yet as i'm too new. Any help would be much appreciated.

The only thing I changed on my sons 99 SX6 was needle clip position. Your stock position is in #3. His ended up at #2 after the 2.5 position was borderline lean. #2 was just right.
Read the plugs a few times at idle as well. Increasing the pilots from 45(stock) to 47.5 would be the only other thing you might have to do.
These pipes were engineered to use the stock,fat factory mains.
Do the clips and go for a ride.

ok here you go!
pilot= 45
fuelscrew =3 turns,
yes thats right 3 turns out!
stock nozzles
needles =3rd / 4th/ 4th pos
main jets = 142.5 /142.5 /142.5
yep thats right , you jet down with these pipes! these specs are reliable to - 10 degrees f.

if you can find a psi green primary spring, and , a 60* sec setting a 52/42 helix! your looking for a shift out of 9100 rpm!

Thank a ton! I will try to upgrade the clutch while im at it. Do I have to get my helix machined or is there a good place I can order one from?

Raise your clip to lower the needle(leaner) and lower your clip to raise the needle(richer). Just had to raise mine for my hauck pipes and it was a pain in the back side lol the chgggart has them numbered top to bottom 1-5 so when I say raise or lower I'm not referring to the numbers, just direction. 4th position is richer than 3rd.

Think of the carb as a wine bottle and the needle as a cork. The more the cork is stuck in the bottle, the less wine is allowed to flow.Raise your clip to lower the needle(leaner) and lower your clip to raise the needle(richer).
