Hi, Ive searched all over the web about a direct bolt on rear suspension upgrade on a 97 sx 700. Im having trouble with a direct answer. Will a 99 viper rear skid bolt right on my 97? I love my sled, but could really use a few more inches in the rear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Yes and no.
Yes, a Viper rear suspension will bolt right in.
No, there is no such thing as a 99 Viper.
2002 was first year for the Viper.

Viper is the same as yours, except long travel, with better dampening shocks, and better springs.

Just Viper shocks & limiter straps would do the same and save ya $. Whatever you do , at least get your new shocks refreshed. That is usually seals and oil.
As I don't have a Vipe guys, are all Viper shocks rebuildable?

Yes, they are all rebuildable, front and rear.
And yes, limiter straps, and bothe shocks will get you a long travel rear, but, once the rear sits higher, the front really should too.
Can be done with Viper front shocks, but to be done properly, trailing arms, radius rods and steering arms should be swapped also. I have done it both ways on my SX, and ended up with a squirrley sled and bent steering arms when I just did the shocks in the front.
