Will the spindles from a 1998-1999 SRX fit a 2001 SRX? Parts fiche shows spindle p/n 8CR-23803-01-00 for 2000-2002 models and 8CR-23853-02-00 for 1998-99. Trying to get a used replacement for my '01 but most available seem to be from either an older SRX (98-99) or SX-R (which also has same p/n's as the SRX's). I know 100% the Viper spindles don't fit. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Unless there is something i’m unaware of, any spindle from 1997-2003 except viper, will work.
Yamaha recalled the spindles on most 97's and some 98's, including the srx. The 8CR with the 02 would be the updated spindles. Could be old part number vs updated. I am in agreement with Murder, same on all the pro-actions except the vipe and some ventures. If you need some, I have several.

Thanks. Any idea what the recall might have been? Any worries about installing the '98-99 spindle if that's all I can find used? 00-02 all seem to have the updated part# 8CR-23803-01-00
I have several 97’s, and if I haven’t broke one, not a high chance they are gonna break....lol
Pop the plastic cap of and measure the inside diameter of the spindle. The updated ones should be 13.2mm id and the questionable ones will be 16.2mm. I actually had one break on my 98 SRX in 99 and it made a mess out of things, not to mention the inconvenience of a 25 mile ride out with a broken spindle and bent trailing arm.

I’ll have to check if any of ours have been updated, but between me and my buddy’s, we have 5 or 6 of those listed.
