Hi guys I have a 04 sx viper 700er and I was wonder if somebody could show me where the drain plug for the chain case is? And I've done some googling and I can't seem to find a exact amount of oil for it. I bought it last spring and want to get it ready for the riding season. Please and thank you!

Just crack the case open (4 bolts and the clip for the pull rope), you can inspect and clean out the case this way. Put a oil pan under the sled there is a hole in the belly pan the oil will drain through. Fill to full on dipstick, make sure to go by if it is standard or reverse level. Check chain tension as well.

An AFU cookie sheet of 9x11 works great. Then get the better half a new one. Or not.

For tension ... I finger tighten the tensioner. Then back it off 1/2 a turn. Don't forget the jamb nut!!!

on my sxr700 it’s inside where the tunnel starts at the front of the track.i believe all the pro action sleds use the same chain case so the location should be the same. the yamalube bottle u bought is supposed to be a premeasured amount fro yamaha sleds, just dump the whole thing in

#34 is under the sled. I accidentally found it while feeling around the other day. What oil do you use? The 03 viper says 75 wt. The dealer said use 10-30.

True story here.
1. 2011 Ford 3/4t van
2. 2000 miles driven/week
3. She dropped it off EVERY Saturday for an oil change so she didn't have to get an oil change in the middle of her work week.
Now as we all know, auto timing chains are pretty much the same construction as our chain case chains. If not EXACTLY!! And they are lubed by engine oil.
4. Over 600,000 miles on it. Still having the factory installed timing chain.
Morale of the story. Whatever fluid you choose, weather it be ATF, 0/20, 5/30, 10/40, 15/40, 20/50, straight 30 or gear oil ........ as long as it is replaced frequently you'll be fine.
